Shizuku Ceremonial Matcha (50g)
Beschrijving
Shizuku is a premium ceremonial-grade matcha sourced from Uji, Kyoto – Japan’s most famous tea-growing region. Harvested from the first flush of spring (the earliest, highest-quality harvest), these shade-grown tea leaves are hand-picked at peak freshness and flavor. They are then stone-ground using traditional granite mills, yielding an exceptionally fine powder that preserves maximum nutrients and a naturally vibrant green colour.
The result is an umami-rich matcha with gentle bitterness balanced by natural sweetness and a pleasant grassy aroma, plus subtle nutty undertones.
Maybe you’ve seen the videos of our drink launches, or maybe you've heard the hype – now you can enjoy at home the very same matcha used at Australia’s most prominent matcha café of 2025!
Origin: Uji, Kyoto
Harvest: First Flush
Processing: Stone Ground
Taste: Umami Forward, gentle bitterness with natural sweetness. Pleasant grassy aroma with sweet nutty undertones.
Instructions
-
Measure & Sift: Measure about 4 grams of Shizuku matcha into a dry bowl or mug. For best results, sift the powder first to remove any clumps.
-
Add Hot Water: Pour in roughly 40 ml of hot water (about 80 °C, just under boiling). Do not use boiling water, as it can scorch the delicate tea.
-
Whisk: Use a bamboo matcha whisk (chasen) or a milk frother to briskly whisk the matcha and water. Whisk in a zigzag motion until you have a smooth, frothy green paste with no lumps.
-
Add Milk: Gently pour in 130 ml of your choice of milk (traditionally whole milk or a non-dairy alternative like almond or oat milk). The milk can be warmed for a hot latte or cold for an iced latte. Whisk or stir well until the matcha is fully blended with the milk.
-
Sweeten & Enjoy: Taste your matcha latte. Shizuku’s first flush tea is naturally sweet and smooth, but you can add a bit of honey or sugar if desired. Enjoy immediately, sipping the vibrant green latte that brings the authentic cafe experience to your home.
Storage: After each use, tightly seal the 50 g tin and store it in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. Proper storage keeps your matcha fresh, flavorful, and full of its beneficial nutrients for longer. Enjoy your Shizuku matcha as a daily ritual of health and indulgence!
